It’s a square cake, about 7 inches. Feeds 6–10 people. Perfect for a spring birthday, Mother’s Day, baby shower, garden party, or any time you want a cake that’s fresh, floral, and not too rich.

What’s in it?

• Sponge – our proper vanilla. Light, fluffy, real vanilla. None of that artificial rubbish.

• Filling – a layer of lemon curd (bright and zesty) or raspberry jam – you choose. Lemon curd gives that meadow‑fresh taste.

• Frosting – pale green or white buttercream. I can do a soft mint green, like fresh grass, or keep it white with green accents.

• The meadow bits – hand‑piped buttercream flowers: tiny daisies, wild roses, and little green leaves scattered on top and round the edges. Each one is different – like a real meadow.

• The square shape – sharp edges, neat slices. Looks lovely on a table.

• The details – a few edible pearls or a light dusting of icing sugar for a dewy look.

Can I get a different filling?

Yes. Strawberry jam, lemon curd, or even a light vanilla cream. Lemon curd is my favourite – it’s so fresh with the vanilla.

One thing to mention…

The buttercream flowers are delicate – they might lose a petal in transport. I’ll pack it carefully. The colours are made with food gel – no weird taste. Also, the lemon curd filling is quite tangy – if you prefer something sweeter, go for raspberry jam.
