Right. Questions people keep asking.
I get asked the same stuff quite a lot. Which is fair enough. Cake's important. You want to know what you're getting. So here's the answers to the usual things. If I've missed something just message me.
How much notice do you need for orders?
Depends what you want really.
If it's a slice or a cupcake just pop in. No notice needed. If they're there they're yours.
If it's a full cake? Ideally give me a few days. Week for simple stuff. Two weeks for fancy things with lots of decoration. Big weddings and that? Month maybe more. Just to be safe.
If you're in a panic and need something quick message anyway. I'll do my best. Can't promise but I'll try.
Do you deliver?
Yeah. Round Bromley, Shortlands, Bickley and nearby. Small charge depending how far. Pop your postcode in at checkout or message me and I'll let you know.
Or you can collect from the shop. Whatever suits.
Can I just come and buy stuff without ordering?
Course. Door's open. Well not literally open open because it's cold sometimes but you know what I mean.
I bake fresh each morning so there's usually slices and cupcakes in the cabinet. When they're gone they're gone though. If you want something specific maybe message ahead so I can stick one behind the counter for you.
Do you do gluten free / vegan / dairy free stuff?
I do some yeah. Not everything but some things.
Vegan chocolate cake works surprisingly well. Vegan cupcakes too. Gluten free depends on the recipe. Some work some don't. Dairy free I can often sort.
Best thing is message me and ask. Tell me what you need and when. I'll be honest if I can do it or not. No point saying yes if it's gonna be rubbish.
How far in advance should I order for a birthday?
Week's safe. Two weeks if you want something specific or it's a busy time like Christmas or Mother's Day.
If you've left it late don't panic. Message me. I've had people order the day before and I've made it work. Might not be as fancy but it'll taste good.
Do you do custom designs?
Love doing custom stuff actually. Best part of the job.
Send me pictures. Tell me ideas. Colours. Themes. What the person's into. I'll figure something out. Might take a couple messages back and forth to get it right but we'll get there.
How do I keep the cake fresh?
Slices and cupcakes? Day or two in a tin. Fridge if it's hot but take it out a bit before eating so it comes back to room temp.
Full cakes with buttercream? Few days in a cool place. Cream cheese frosting? Fridge but same thing. Take it out a bit before.
Cakes with fresh fruit on top? Eat same day really. Fruit goes soft.
Honestly though most cakes don't last long enough to worry about storage.
Can you match a colour?
Yeah usually. Send me a picture or tell me the shade. I'll do my best. Might not be exact exact because colours work different in icing but close.
Do you do kids parties?
Loads. Cupcakes are easiest. Everyone gets their own. No fighting. No slicing. Just grab and go.
Can do a big cake too if you want something for blowing candles out. Then cupcakes for everyone else. Works well.
What's the most popular thing you make?
Right now? Pistachio stuff. Gone mad for it. Biscoff too. Always popular.
But honestly the classic vanilla sponge? People keep coming back to it. Never goes out of style.
Do you have a shop I can visit?
Yeah. In Bromley. [Insert address here]. Small place. Easy to miss maybe. Look for the [describe shopfront]. Pop in. Say hi.
What if I don't like something?
Not happened yet touch wood. But if something's wrong just tell me. Message me. I'll sort it. Not fussed about refunds and replacements and all that. Just want people to be happy.
Right. Anything else?
Message me on [contact method] or pop in. Always happy to chat cake.
