Alright. So. About me then.
Bit awkward if I'm honest. Never been great at talking about myself. Feels weird. Like when someone asks what your hobbies are and you go blank. But here goes.
I'm [Your Name]. I'm the one in the kitchen. The one up at stupid o'clock most mornings making sure stuff's ready. The one writing these rambly descriptions you've probably been reading.
How did we get here?
Bit of a accidental really.
I used to work in an office. You know the type. Grey desk. Grey walls. Grey life basically. Sat there watching the clock, wishing the day away. Felt like I was wasting time. Wasting life.
Weekends were the only bit I looked forward to. Not because I hated my job or anything. Just because I could bake. Cakes for mates. Cupcakes for nieces. Random stuff just because. Loved it. Properly loved it.
People kept saying "you should do this for real." Kept brushing it off. Thought nah that's daft. Can't just give up a proper job to bake cakes. That's not how life works.
Then lockdown happened.
Like everyone else I had time to think. Too much time probably. Sat there wondering what I was actually doing. If I dropped dead tomorrow would I be happy with how I spent my time? The answer was no. Not really.
So I took the leap. Scariest thing I've ever done. Terrifying actually. But sometimes you just have to go for it right?
Started in my kitchen.
Tiny oven. Limited space. Couple orders a week. Then a few more. Then suddenly my oven couldn't keep up and I thought oh god this is actually happening.
Found this little place in Bromley. Bit scruffy when I got it. Did it up myself. Painted walls. Sorted shelves. Made it feel like somewhere I'd want to come every day.
Been here [number] years now. Still love it.
What's my thing?
Honestly? Just making proper cake. Nothing fancy. Nothing pretentious. Just stuff that tastes good because it's made right.
Real butter. Real chocolate. Free range eggs. None of that cheap marge nonsense. None of those weird artificial flavours that taste like chemicals. Just proper ingredients treated properly.
Made fresh. Every order. Not sitting in a freezer somewhere. Not made weeks ago. Fresh.
The Bromley bit matters.
Grew up round here. Know the area inside out. The schools. The parks. The shortcuts. When you order from me you're not dealing with some big company somewhere else. You're dealing with someone local. Someone down the road. Someone who'll wave if they see you in the street.
We deliver round Bromley, Shortlands, Bickley and nearby. Or just pop in and grab stuff. Door's open.
What do I actually make?
All sorts really.
Big cakes for birthdays and weddings and anniversaries. Little cakes for no reason at all. Cupcakes by the box. Slices for lunchtime treats. Trendy stuff like pistachio and Biscoff. Classic stuff like vanilla and chocolate. Stuff for kids. Stuff for grown ups. Stuff for people who just fancy something nice on a Tuesday.
If you want something I don't do just ask. Worst I can say is no. But I'll probably say yes and figure it out as I go.
Pop in if you're passing.
Kettle's always on. Happy to chat about cake or life or whatever. Or just grab what you need and go. No pressure either way.
Right. That's enough waffle. Got stuff in the oven.
