Someone asked me a while back: “can you do a red velvet cake but with strawberry inside? For my girlfriend’s birthday. She can’t choose between them.”
I said yeah, course. Made a red velvet heart cake, layered with fresh strawberry compote and cream cheese frosting, and topped with strawberries. She didn’t want to cut it – just kept saying “it’s so pretty.” That’s a win.
So here it is: Strawberry Red Velvet Heart Cake – available at our Bromley bakery.
It’s a heart‑shaped cake, about 7 inches. Feeds 6–10 people. Perfect for a birthday, Valentine’s Day, anniversary, or any time you want a cake that’s both rich and fruity.
What’s in it?
Sponge – red velvet. Our proper one. Deep red, light cocoa, moist, not too sweet.
Filling – a generous layer of fresh strawberry compote (real strawberries, not jam) and smooth cream cheese buttercream.
Frosting – cream cheese buttercream on the outside, white or pale pink. Smooth and tangy.
The strawberries – fresh strawberry slices on top, maybe a whole strawberry in the centre.
The heart shape – hand‑cut. So it’s a proper heart, not a factory perfect one.
The details – a few red sprinkles or a drizzle of strawberry sauce if you want extra.
It’s like red velvet went on a date with strawberry, and this cake is their baby.

One thing to mention…
The fresh strawberry compote is made with real fruit – it might be a little softer than jam, but that’s the real thing. Also the cream cheese frosting means the cake should stay cool. Don’t leave it in a hot car.

Product Life After Purchase
Our fresh cream cakes have a fridge shelf life of 24 hours and should be consumed within this time. For best results, place the cake in the refrigerator within 45 minutes (maximum 2 hours) of purchase and store at a temperature between 2°C and 5°C.
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled collection or delivery time. Refunds are also not provided for failed deliveries or cakes that remain uncollected for any reason.

The delivery drivers aim to deliver your order within the selected time slot. However, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic. If this happens, we will try to contact you using the phone number you provided.
When the driver arrives, they will knock or ring the bell. If there is no response, they will attempt to call you. If still unanswered, the order will be returned to our store. In such cases, you will need to contact us to arrange redelivery (charged at our standard delivery rate) or collect your order from our store free of charge. Delivery charges are non-refundable.
If you miss your scheduled delivery day and request a refund or a replacement cake for the next day, an additional charge will apply.
For flats or apartment buildings, we kindly ask that you meet the driver at the main entrance.
On receiving your order, please check your cake carefully, especially the written message and its condition. Any damage must be reported immediately. Please take clear photos, inform the driver, and refuse the delivery if necessary. Once a delivery is accepted and the driver has left, it becomes more difficult for us to investigate. As we work with third-party couriers, minor imperfections may occur. While we strive to fulfil every order with care, we ask for your understanding of slight damages. If your cake arrives in poor condition, please take photos and return it with the driver to the store for a refund.
