Rosy Swirl Fantasy Cake – pink, pretty, and swirled like a dream
Right. Roses and swirls – two of my favourite things. This cake is a fantasy, really. Something you’d see in a fairy tale. A soft vanilla or strawberry sponge (pink inside if you want), then a layer of rose‑infused buttercream or a light raspberry jam (rose and raspberry are best friends). On the outside, a swirl of pale pink and white buttercream, like ribbons dancing. Then a few delicate piped roses on top, and a dusting of edible rose petals.
I first made this for a birthday in Sydenham. The mum wanted something “girly but not childish, floral but not old‑fashioned”. So I thought: swirls. Roses. Soft pink. And it worked. She cried.
What’s in it?
Vanilla or strawberry sponge – your choice. Strawberry gives a lovely pink inside. Filling is either rose buttercream (just a hint of rose water – not soapy, I promise) or raspberry jam. On the outside, a two‑tone swirl of pink and white buttercream, hand‑piped. Then a few buttercream roses in deeper pink, a sprinkle of edible rose petals, and a dusting of pearl dust for shimmer.
Where to get it
I bake these in Bromley. People from Downham, Grove Park, Catford and Bellingham order them for birthdays, anniversaries, or just because they want to feel like a princess. I deliver local, or you can collect from the shop.
Who’s buying this?
Anyone who loves roses but doesn’t want a whole garden on their cake. People who think pink is the happiest colour. Mums who want a cake that’s elegant but not too fancy. And honestly? Anyone who’s ever smelled a rose and wished they could eat it.
One thing to know
The rose flavour is subtle – it’s a whisper, not a shout. If you want it stronger, just ask. The edible rose petals are from a food supplier (not someone’s garden – safe to eat). The swirl is hand‑piped, so each cake is unique. Best eaten within two days; the petals stay pretty for about 24 hours.

Product Life After Purchase
Our fresh cream cakes have a fridge shelf life of 24 hours and should be consumed within this time. For best results, place the cake in the refrigerator within 45 minutes (maximum 2 hours) of purchase and store at a temperature between 2°C and 5°C.
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled collection or delivery time. Refunds are also not provided for failed deliveries or cakes that remain uncollected for any reason.

The delivery drivers aim to deliver your order within the selected time slot. However, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic. If this happens, we will try to contact you using the phone number you provided.
When the driver arrives, they will knock or ring the bell. If there is no response, they will attempt to call you. If still unanswered, the order will be returned to our store. In such cases, you will need to contact us to arrange redelivery (charged at our standard delivery rate) or collect your order from our store free of charge. Delivery charges are non-refundable.
If you miss your scheduled delivery day and request a refund or a replacement cake for the next day, an additional charge will apply.
For flats or apartment buildings, we kindly ask that you meet the driver at the main entrance.
On receiving your order, please check your cake carefully, especially the written message and its condition. Any damage must be reported immediately. Please take clear photos, inform the driver, and refuse the delivery if necessary. Once a delivery is accepted and the driver has left, it becomes more difficult for us to investigate. As we work with third-party couriers, minor imperfections may occur. While we strive to fulfil every order with care, we ask for your understanding of slight damages. If your cake arrives in poor condition, please take photos and return it with the driver to the store for a refund.
