Right. This one’s for the special occasion.
You know what I mean. First Holy Communion. A big day in a child’s life. White dresses, smart suits, family round the table. It’s not just a birthday – it’s a milestone. A proper one.
Someone asked me a while back: “can you do a cake for my daughter’s Communion? She wants something religious but not too plain. A cross, maybe a dove.”
I said yeah, course. Made a round cake, white buttercream, a gold cross on top, and a little dove. They didn’t want to cut it. That’s when you know it’s right.
So here it is: Cross & Dove Communion Cake – available at our Bromley bakery.
It’s a round cake, about 7 or 8 inches. Feeds 6–10 people. Perfect for a First Holy Communion, Christening, Baptism, or any religious celebration.
What’s in it?
Sponge – vanilla, lemon, or chocolate. Your choice. Our proper ones. Light, not too heavy.
Frosting – smooth white buttercream. Clean, elegant, simple.
The cross – a gold or silver cross on top. Made of fondant or piped in icing. Sometimes a little edible glitter.
The dove – a white fondant dove, wings spread. Symbol of peace and the Holy Spirit.
The details – maybe a few piped flowers, tiny pearls round the edge, or “God Bless” written on the side.
It’s respectful. It’s beautiful. It’s made for a day that families remember forever.
Who buys this?
First Communion cake – the big one. Very popular in spring (April/May).
Christening cake – for a baby’s baptism. Can do a smaller version.
Baptism cake – same thing, different word.
Religious celebration – confirmation, naming day, or even a priest’s anniversary.
Honestly? Anyone who wants a cake that feels special and meaningful.
Can I get a different colour cross?
Yeah. Gold, silver, white, even rose gold. Just tell me.
Can I add a name and date?
Course. I’ll pipe the child’s name and the date of the Communion on the side or on a little plaque.
Different flavour?
Yeah. Red velvet, strawberry, coconut – whatever. Just ask.
How much notice?
Week or two if you can. The dove takes time to shape. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest.
Collection or delivery?
Collect from our Bromley shop or local delivery if you're nearby.
One thing to mention…
The dove and cross are made of fondant – edible but hard. Most families keep them as a keepsake after the cake is eaten. Also the wings on the dove are a bit fragile – I’ll pack it carefully.

Product Life After Purchase
Our fresh cream cakes have a fridge shelf life of 24 hours and should be consumed within this time. For best results, place the cake in the refrigerator within 45 minutes (maximum 2 hours) of purchase and store at a temperature between 2°C and 5°C.
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled collection or delivery time. Refunds are also not provided for failed deliveries or cakes that remain uncollected for any reason.

The delivery drivers aim to deliver your order within the selected time slot. However, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic. If this happens, we will try to contact you using the phone number you provided.
When the driver arrives, they will knock or ring the bell. If there is no response, they will attempt to call you. If still unanswered, the order will be returned to our store. In such cases, you will need to contact us to arrange redelivery (charged at our standard delivery rate) or collect your order from our store free of charge. Delivery charges are non-refundable.
If you miss your scheduled delivery day and request a refund or a replacement cake for the next day, an additional charge will apply.
For flats or apartment buildings, we kindly ask that you meet the driver at the main entrance.
On receiving your order, please check your cake carefully, especially the written message and its condition. Any damage must be reported immediately. Please take clear photos, inform the driver, and refuse the delivery if necessary. Once a delivery is accepted and the driver has left, it becomes more difficult for us to investigate. As we work with third-party couriers, minor imperfections may occur. While we strive to fulfil every order with care, we ask for your understanding of slight damages. If your cake arrives in poor condition, please take photos and return it with the driver to the store for a refund.

Delivery is available within 2 hours of placing your order. Please select a delivery slot at checkout and ensure you provide the correct contact number for our driver.
