Right. This one’s for a journey of a lifetime.
Umrah and Hajj – they’re not just trips. They’re spiritual journeys, months of planning, and a moment that families remember forever. When someone you love comes back from Makkah and Madinah, you want to say “Mubarak” in a big way. And what better way than a cake that looks like a tower? A minaret, the Kaaba, or just a beautiful tiered cake that says “you did it.”
Someone asked me a while back: “can you make a cake for my mum’s return from Umrah? She loves the towers in Makkah. Something tall, elegant, with a gold dome.”
I said yeah, course. I made a two‑tier cake, covered it in white and gold, added a little fondant dome on top, and wrote “Umrah Mubarak” in Arabic. She cried. The whole family took photos. That’s a win.
So here it is: Umrah/Hajj Tower Cake – available at our Bromley bakery.
It’s a tower‑shaped cake (two or three tiers), about 7–9 inches tall. Feeds 10–20 people depending on the size. Perfect for welcoming someone back from Umrah or Hajj, a pre‑pilgrimage dua party, or any Islamic celebration that calls for something special.
What’s in it?
Sponge – vanilla, chocolate, or red velvet. All alcohol‑free – halal‑friendly ingredients.
Frosting – smooth buttercream or cream cheese. White, gold, or green – the colours of Islam.
The tower shape – I stack two or three round cakes, then decorate them to look like a tower or a minaret. You can have a fondant dome on top, a crescent moon, or even a little Kaaba shape.
The details – edible gold leaf, silver pearls, or a cascade of sugar flowers. Or keep it simple with “Umrah Mubarak” or “Hajj Mubarak” piped in gold.
The message – you can have the pilgrim’s name, the date, or a simple “Blessed Return.”
It’s a cake that says “we’re proud of you” without words. And it’s delicious – because joy should be shared.
Who buys this?
Welcome back from Umrah – a surprise for when they walk through the door.
Hajj celebration cake – for the big feast after they return.
Pre‑pilgrimage party – praying for a safe journey.
Family gathering – when everyone comes together to celebrate.
Just because – you want to honour someone’s faith and effort.
Honestly? Anyone who wants to say “Mubarak” in a memorable way.
Can I get a specific tower design?
Yes. A simple tiered cake is easiest. I can add a minaret shape (tall and pointed) or a dome (like a mosque). I can’t make an exact replica of the Kaaba (out of respect and copyright), but I can do a black cube with gold embroidery as a symbol.
Can I get Arabic calligraphy?
Yes. Send me a clear image of the text – “عمرة مباركة” or “حج مبارك” or the pilgrim’s name. I’ll do my best to trace it in icing.
How much notice?
At least a week for custom calligraphy and tower shaping. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest.
Collection or delivery?
Collect from our Bromley shop or local delivery if you're nearby.
One thing to mention…
The tower cake is taller than a normal cake – make sure you have a big enough box and a steady hand when carrying it. Also, all ingredients are halal‑friendly – no alcohol, no gelatine. If you need halal certification, let me know.
Right. That’s the Umrah/Hajj Tower one done.
For the pilgrims who’ve walked where prophets walked. And for the families who welcome them home with cake.
