Product Description

Right. This one’s for the little aviators.

You know who they are. They run round the living room with their arms out, making “neeeeeooow” noises. They point at every plane in the sky. They definitely have a favourite aeroplane toy. No judgement – I used to do the same thing.

Someone asked me a while back: “can you make a cake shaped like a plane for my son’s 4th birthday? He’s obsessed with flying. Blue sky, white clouds, maybe a little window.”

I said yeah, course. I carved a vanilla cake into a plane shape, covered it in blue buttercream like the sky, added white clouds, and put a little fondant pilot in the window. He didn’t want to eat it – just flew it round the table. That’s a win.

So here it is: Sky Adventure Aeroplane Cake – available at our Bromley bakery.

It’s a plane‑shaped cake, about 7 inches long. Feeds 6–10 people. Perfect for a kids birthday partyaviation themed celebration, or any little one who dreams of flying.

What’s in it?

  • Sponge – vanilla, chocolate, or lemon. Your choice. Vanilla is light and works well for carving.

  • Frosting – sky blue buttercream. Smooth, bright, like a clear day.

  • The plane shape – I bake a rectangular cake, then carve it into a plane – fuselage, wings, tail. It’s not a perfect model, but you’ll know it’s a plane.

  • The details – white buttercream clouds on the sides, a little fondant window with a tiny pilot inside, and maybe a propeller on the front (made of fondant or a biscuit).

  • Around the base – a few edible stars or a “runway” of brown sprinkles.

It’s the cake that makes kids say “wow, a real plane!” before they realise they can eat it.

Who buys this?

  • Kids birthday cake – 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th birthdays – peak aeroplane age.

  • Aviation themed party – for a little one who loves all things that fly.

  • Pilot or flight attendant’s kid – family tradition.

  • Just because – you want a cake that’s a bit different from the usual round ones.

  • First birthday – can do a smaller smash cake with a plane topper.

  • Honestly? Any child who’s ever pointed at the sky and said “plane!”

Can I get a different colour scheme?

Yeah. Sunset sky (orange and pink), night sky (dark blue with stars), or even a rainbow sky – just tell me.

Can I add a name or age on the side?

Course. “Happy Birthday Leo”, “Captain Oliver” – I’ll pipe it on the fuselage or under the wings.

How much notice?

Few days if you can. Carving takes a bit of time. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest.

Collection or delivery?

Collect from our Bromley shop or local delivery if you're nearby.

One thing to mention…

The plane shape is hand‑carved – it won’t be a perfect model. The wings might be a bit wonky. That’s the handmade charm. Also the fondant pilot is edible but a bit hard – kids might want to keep him.

Right. That’s the Sky Adventure Aeroplane one done.
For the little ones who believe that the sky is not the limit. And that cake can fly (but don’t throw it).
