Right. This one’s for the people who love forests, Christmas, and chocolate drips.
You know that feeling when you’re walking through a snowy pine forest, and you smell the trees, and the air is cold and fresh, and you just want to go home to a warm fire and a slice of cake? That’s this cake. It’s a forest on a plate. With a drip.
Someone asked me a while back: “can you make a Christmas cake that’s not a fruitcake? Something with chocolate, but also a bit… foresty? Pine? But not actual pine.”
I said yeah, course. I made a dark chocolate sponge (like the dark trees), added a layer of cranberry and orange compote (like berries in the woods), covered it in a green buttercream (like moss or pine needles), and finished it with a dark chocolate drip and little chocolate trees. They said it looked like a merry little forest. That’s a win.
So here it is: Merry Forest Drip Cake – available at our Bromley bakery.
It’s a round cake, about 7 inches. Feeds 6–10 people. Perfect for Christmas Day, a winter birthday, a festive party, or any time you want to bring a bit of the woods to your table.
What’s in it?
Sponge – rich dark chocolate or spiced orange. Dark chocolate feels like the deep forest. Spiced orange is very festive.
Filling – cranberry & orange compote (tart, sweet, wintery) or a smooth chocolate ganache – you decide.
Frosting – forest green buttercream. Not neon – a deep, natural green. Like pine needles or moss.
The drip – a glossy dark chocolate drip round the top edge. Looks like melting snow or dark tree sap. Tastes amazing.
The forest bits – little chocolate trees on top, a few sugared cranberries, and a dusting of icing sugar for snow.
The details – maybe a few gold stars or edible silver pearls to look like frost.
It’s the cake that makes you feel like you’re having a picnic in a snowy forest. But indoors. With central heating.
Who buys this?
Christmas Day cake – a showstopper for the big dinner.
Winter birthday cake – for people born in December or January.
Festive party cake – for office parties, family gatherings, or a holiday dinner.
Forest lover’s cake – anyone who hikes or just loves trees.
Just because – you want to eat a forest. (Don’t eat a real forest. Eat this cake.)
Honestly? Anyone who’s tired of red and gold and wants some green and chocolate.
Can I get a different flavour inside?
Spiced orange is my favourite – it’s so Christmassy. But vanilla or gingerbread work too.
Can I add a message or name?
Course. “Merry Christmas”, “Happy Birthday”, “The Woodland Crew” – I’ll pipe it in white or gold on the side.
How much notice?
Few days if you can. The chocolate trees take time to set. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest.

One thing to mention…
The green buttercream is made with food colouring – no weird taste. The chocolate trees are edible but a bit fragile – they might lose a branch in transport. I’ll pack them carefully. And the drip might soften in a warm room – keep it cool but not fridged.

Product Life After Purchase
Our fresh cream cakes have a fridge shelf life of 24 hours and should be consumed within this time. For best results, place the cake in the refrigerator within 45 minutes (maximum 2 hours) of purchase and store at a temperature between 2°C and 5°C.
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled collection or delivery time. Refunds are also not provided for failed deliveries or cakes that remain uncollected for any reason.

The delivery drivers aim to deliver your order within the selected time slot. However, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic. If this happens, we will try to contact you using the phone number you provided.
When the driver arrives, they will knock or ring the bell. If there is no response, they will attempt to call you. If still unanswered, the order will be returned to our store. In such cases, you will need to contact us to arrange redelivery (charged at our standard delivery rate) or collect your order from our store free of charge. Delivery charges are non-refundable.
If you miss your scheduled delivery day and request a refund or a replacement cake for the next day, an additional charge will apply.
For flats or apartment buildings, we kindly ask that you meet the driver at the main entrance.
On receiving your order, please check your cake carefully, especially the written message and its condition. Any damage must be reported immediately. Please take clear photos, inform the driver, and refuse the delivery if necessary. Once a delivery is accepted and the driver has left, it becomes more difficult for us to investigate. As we work with third-party couriers, minor imperfections may occur. While we strive to fulfil every order with care, we ask for your understanding of slight damages. If your cake arrives in poor condition, please take photos and return it with the driver to the store for a refund.
