Right. This one’s for the mango lovers.
Not mango from a tin or a bottle – real, ripe, juicy mango. The kind that stains your fingers and tastes like a tropical holiday. This is a square cake (sharp edges, neat slices) with a light vanilla sponge, but the star is the mango: fresh mango puree in the batter, a layer of homemade mango curd between the sponges, and a pile of fresh mango slices on top. It’s sunshine in cake form.
Someone asked me a while back: “can you make a cake with real mango? Not flavouring – the real fruit. Square shape would be nice. We’re in Bellingham.”
I said yeah, course. I made a vanilla sponge with fresh mango puree, layered it with a tangy mango curd, and covered it in a pale yellow buttercream. Then I topped it with fresh mango slices and a drizzle of passionfruit (because mango and passionfruit are best friends). She said it tasted like being on holiday. That’s a win.
So here it is: Mango Square Cake – available for delivery and collection across Bromley, Downham, Grove Park, Sydenham, Catford & Bellingham.
It’s a square cake, about 7 inches. Feeds 6–10 people. Perfect for a summer birthday, tropical themed party, baby shower, anniversary, or any time you want to bring a bit of sunshine to the table.
What’s in it?
Sponge – light vanilla with fresh mango puree folded into the batter. It’s naturally sweet, moist, and a beautiful pale gold colour.
Filling – a layer of homemade mango curd (just mango, sugar, butter, and egg – no weird stuff). Tangy, smooth, and packed with real mango flavour.
Frosting – a light whipped cream or a mango buttercream – you choose. Whipped cream keeps it light and tropical; buttercream is richer. I can colour it pale yellow or keep it white.
The square shape – sharp edges, easy to slice into neat squares. Looks modern and clean.
The look – a pile of fresh mango slices on top, arranged in a spiral, plus a drizzle of passionfruit puree (optional) and a sprinkle of toasted coconut. Very tropical, very pretty.
It’s the cake that makes you close your eyes and imagine a beach. Even if you’re in Bromley.
Who buys this?
Summer birthday cake – when mangoes are at their best (June–August).
Tropical themed party – luau, Hawaiian, or just because.
Baby shower cake – pale yellow and pretty.

Can I get a different tropical fruit combo?
Yes. Mango and passionfruit is my favourite, but I can also do mango and lime, mango and coconut, or even a mixed tropical fruit cake with pineapple and papaya. Just tell me.
Can I add a message or name?
Course. “Happy Birthday”, “Tropical”, “Love” – I’ll pipe it in white or gold on the side.
How much notice?
Few days if you can. I need to get ripe mangoes – not the hard ones. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest.

Collect from our Bromley shop or get local delivery to Downham, Grove Park, Sydenham, Catford, Bellingham – all within easy reach.
One thing to mention…
Fresh mango on top is best eaten the same day – it will soften overnight. The mango curd is made with real fruit, so it’s a little looser than jam – that’s the good stuff. Also, if mangoes aren’t in season, I can use high‑quality frozen mango puree – still delicious.

Product Life After Purchase
Our fresh cream cakes have a fridge shelf life of 24 hours and should be consumed within this time. For best results, place the cake in the refrigerator within 45 minutes (maximum 2 hours) of purchase and store at a temperature between 2°C and 5°C.
Refund Policy
We do not offer refunds for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled collection or delivery time. Refunds are also not provided for failed deliveries or cakes that remain uncollected for any reason.

The delivery drivers aim to deliver your order within the selected time slot. However, delays may occur due to circumstances beyond our control, such as traffic. If this happens, we will try to contact you using the phone number you provided.
When the driver arrives, they will knock or ring the bell. If there is no response, they will attempt to call you. If still unanswered, the order will be returned to our store. In such cases, you will need to contact us to arrange redelivery (charged at our standard delivery rate) or collect your order from our store free of charge. Delivery charges are non-refundable.
If you miss your scheduled delivery day and request a refund or a replacement cake for the next day, an additional charge will apply.
For flats or apartment buildings, we kindly ask that you meet the driver at the main entrance.
On receiving your order, please check your cake carefully, especially the written message and its condition. Any damage must be reported immediately. Please take clear photos, inform the driver, and refuse the delivery if necessary. Once a delivery is accepted and the driver has left, it becomes more difficult for us to investigate. As we work with third-party couriers, minor imperfections may occur. While we strive to fulfil every order with care, we ask for your understanding of slight damages. If your cake arrives in poor condition, please take photos and return it with the driver to the store for a refund.
