E.g: Draw Heart Shape With Message
Right. This one’s for the words you want to spell.
Not everyone wants a round cake or a number cake. Sometimes you want to spell something out. A name. An age. A word like “LOVE” or “MUM” or “BABY”. That’s where alphabetic cakes come in. Each letter is its own little cake, carved into the shape of a letter, and you arrange them to form the word you want.
Someone asked me a while back: “can you make a cake that spells ‘AMY’ for my daughter’s 18th? She’s not into numbers – she wants her name.”
I said yeah, course. I baked four rectangular cakes, carved them into A, M, Y, covered them in pink buttercream, and added a few sprinkles. She cried. That’s a win.
So here it is: Alphabetic Cake – available at our Bromley bakery.
It’s a set of letter‑shaped cakes (any letters A–Z, plus space for a short word). Feeds 2–3 people per letter – so a 4‑letter name feeds about 8–12 people. Perfect for a birthday, anniversary, baby shower, graduation, proposal, or any time you want to say something sweet with cake.
What’s in it?
Sponge – vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, lemon, or carrot. Your choice. You can have the same flavour for all letters, or mix them up.
Frosting – buttercream in any colour you want. Match the party theme, or go classic white, pink, blue, or gold.
The letters – I bake rectangular cakes, then carve each one into the letter you need. Uppercase or lowercase – you tell me. They’re handmade, so not perfect like a machine, but you’ll recognise the letter.
The details – smooth or swirled buttercream, a simple drip, sprinkles, or a piped message on a separate plaque.
The look – each letter stands on its own, so you can arrange them in a row, a circle, or scattered on the table. Very Instagram‑friendly.
It’s the cake that literally spells out the celebration. And it’s fun to serve – each person grabs their own letter.
Who buys this?
Name cake – for a child’s birthday (e.g., “LEO”, “MAYA”).
Word cake – “LOVE” for Valentine’s or an anniversary, “MUM” for Mother’s Day, “BABY” for a baby shower.
Graduation cake – “GRAD” or the graduate’s name.
Proposal cake – “MARRY ME” or just “YES”.
Just because – you want a cake that’s personal and unique.
Honestly? Anyone who wants to eat their words (literally).
Can I get any word?
Yes. Up to about 8 letters – any more than that and the cake becomes very long and hard to transport. Short words are best: “LOVE”, “MUM”, “DAD”, “BABY”, “SAM”, “ZOEY”, etc.
Can I get a different colour for each letter?
Yes. Rainbow letters are very popular. Or all one colour, or a gradient. Just tell me.
Can I add a message or extra decoration?
Course. A few flowers, some sprinkles, edible pearls, or a little topper. I can also pipe a small message on a separate plaque.
How much notice?
At least a week for alphabetic cakes – carving letters takes time. Order online or message me – I’ll be honest.
Collection or delivery?
Collect from our Bromley shop or local delivery if you're nearby. Letters are separate pieces, so they’re easier to transport than a tower cake.
One thing to mention…
The letters are carved by hand – they won’t be perfectly uniform. That’s the handmade charm. Also, for words like “MUM”, the two M’s might look slightly different – that’s normal.
Right. That’s the Alphabetic Cake one done.
For the people who want their cake to say exactly what they mean. No numbers, no shapes – just letters, made of cake.
